It is reported that the total monthly steel imports in the United States in March 2024 were 2278243 tons, an increase of 1.5% from February and a year-on-year decrease of 4.1%. In terms of value, the total steel imports from the United States in March were $2.76 billion, compared to $2.64 billion in February and $3.18 billion in March 2023.
The main sources of steel imports from the United States in March include Canada S20C steel (54208500 tons), Brazil (3552800 tons), South Korea S20C steel (3162760 tons), Mexico (2603180 tons), and Japan (98653 tons).
According to product classification, the total import volume of semi-finished products in March was 447657 tons, lower than the 447657 tons in February and 626613 tons in March 2023. The total import volume of flat products in March was 950426 tons, higher than 775828 tons in February and 798624 tons in March 2023. The total import volume of long products in March was 4089.12 million tons, higher than the 3952.52 million tons in February and 3249.69 million tons in March 2023.
